THE FIRST EVER SURVEY OF TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED STORAGE FACILITIES IN THE UK

You are invited to take part in the first ever comprehensive Survey of Temperature Controlled Storage Facilities in the UK .

Historically, there has not been a comprehensive database of temperature controlled storage facilities in the UK .

Why is such a database needed?

As the UK Trade Association that covers Food Logistics including temperature controlled storage and distribution we are constantly being asked by Government and research organisations for general data on the size, shape and spread of the industry.  Currently, we can only give broad estimates.  A comprehensive database would allow us to provide accurate information, analysis and trends.  Additionally, it would support our own research projects, inform on environmental issues associated with the industry, allow general benchmarking to be undertaken, support lobbying of the UK Government and EU Commission on issues affecting the industry, as well as informing the industry itself of trends and general developments.

The detailed information provided for sites and companies will be held by the FSDF in the strictest confidence and not divulged to any other organisation or company.  Cumulative data only will be made available to external organisations as well as being used to support FSDF work. However, should you feel that specific data is sensitive from your perspective please feel free to omit that particular item.

The Survey Form has been kept as simple as possible and should only take a few minutes to complete. Click here to download it.

Please help us to develop this important resource by completing and returning the survey form to the FSDF offices as soon as possible but no later than 1st September 2008

email – info@fsdf.org.uk, fax 0118 988 7035, tel 0118 988 4468

As a small incentive, all completed survey forms will be entered into a free prize draw for a bottle of champagne.

You may wish to consider becoming a member of the FSDF and joining the FSDF Climate Change Agreement (CCA).  The CCA is operated by the FSDF on behalf of the UK Government and can save you considerable amounts on your energy consumption costs.  For more information contact Mike Thomas at the FSDF offices.
