The FSDF has evolved from the Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF) and has a pedigree going right back to 1911.

The FSDF has evolved from the Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF) and has a pedigree going right back to 1911. The new organisation has come about as an increasing number of major issues are relevant right across the temperature regimes from frozen to ambient. Temperature controlled logistics remains a major focus of the FSDF but the widened remit allows major support to be provided also to companies in the ambient food and drink sector and for the many common issues to be addressed cohesively.

The widened remit is being reflected in the development of new member services that will be launched later in 2008. These services will focus on providing members with support, information and guidance in the environmental area.

There is increasing pressure from both Government and customers on FSDF members to become more energy efficient and improve their sustainability.

This is where the FSDF will be providing a new range of proactive services, support and advice including benchmarking, case studies and best practice.
