Guest Speaker Graham Gooch
A 2009 ICC Cricket Hall of Fame inductee, Graham Gooch was a fearsomely prolific batsman, armed with a heavy piece of willow that blunted and dispatched the very best. One of England’s most prolific run scorers of all-time, he places second only behind his protégé Alastair Cook in the list of leading Test run-scorers. He captained England between 1988 and 1993, a tenure which included a world record number of runs scored in a single Test.
Post his playing career, he worked closely with Alastair Cook as Essex’s batting coach before taking on a full-time role with the national side between February 2012 and May 2014. He is currently President of the Professional Cricketers’ Association.
