FSDF Safety Management Conference – Last Chance to Book!

10/05/2018

With less than a fortnight to go, places are filling up for the FSDF Safety Management Conference which is taking place 15th May 2018 at College Court Conference Centre, Leicester. The conference will cover some key issues that are particularly relevant to the logistics industry with some hard-hitting messages.

FORK LIFT SAFETY

We are delighted that Lisa Ramos has agreed to share her story with us after she was knocked down by a fork lift truck. Her husband, Dave Garton, also tells how her accident impacted on the whole family. They are now Safety Ambassadors and speak at events across the country to really bring home the safety message.

Peter HarveyChief Executive of the Fork Lift Truck Association will continue the theme with some shocking video footage and a sage reminder to managers of their own responsibilities when it comes to training their staff.

RACKING SAFETY

Jonathan Bennett from the Storage Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, presents their Best Practice Guide.

LOAD SAFETY

We are delighted to welcome back Nina Day, Senior Engineer, Road & Workplace Transport at the Health & Safety Laboratory who will re-iterate the importance of safe vehicle loading and share some examples she has encountered on our roads.

FOOD SAFETY

In light of some recent high-profile cases, Philip Randles, Head of Incidents at the Food Standards Agency, will share case studies with delegates and give an overview of the outcomes.

FSDF has been developing a new Guide alongside a number of other industry stakeholders including retailers, food logistics operators, UK Border Force, the Police, the Food Standards Agency, DEFRA, the Fresh Produce Consortium and insurers. The Guide explains what steps a company should take if it discovers that a vehicle has been broken into by clandestines and how to mitigate any losses.

Robert Hardy, from Oakland International, a key contributor to the Guide, will explain its importance to the food supply chain and how to obtain a copy.

FSDF events are still great value – £100 for members and £125 for non-members.
