Toyota Material Handling to sponsor FLTA Safety Convention 2018
FSDF member Toyota Material Handling UK has confirmed that they will sponsor this year’s Fork Lift Truck Association’s National Forklift Safety Convention.
This prestigious event will take place on Wednesday 3rd October 2018 at the Heart of England Event and Conference Centre. It brings together hundreds of managers responsible for ensuring operational safety so they can learn first-hand from an expert line-up of speakers.
Delegates will hear experienced materials handling and safety specialists share knowledge, case studies and practical advice on the key issues affecting fork lift truck safety in the workplace.
Workplace transport accidents involving fork lift trucks are on the rise, according to statistics revealed last year by the HSE. In 2016/17, 1300 individuals were seriously injured, or worse, with life changing injuries as a result of fork lift truck accidents. This was a 30% increase on the previous year.
Jon Buckley, Commercial Director at Toyota Material Handling UK said: “At Toyota, safety has always been our number one priority, and we want to ensure that safety is top of mind for anyone working with or alongside lift trucks. This conference plays a key role in reinforcing this message.”
Jon adds: “We are dedicated to helping our customers operate safely and events like this are crucial in keeping managers fully aware of the risks and their responsibilities, as well as the latest technological aids to safety.”
Association Chairman, Duncan Nealon, said: “We are delighted to have Toyota’s support for this important event.
“Now in its 13th year, it’s grown into the must-attend event for anyone responsible for keeping operations safe.
“Working with Toyota, we are able to learn from the global leader and continuously improve this event every year.”
Attendees can expect to hear presentations from industry experts, which address a range of common safety issues. In addition, there will also be a special guest speaker and peer-to-peer case studies.
Consistently rated as a crucial part of the event, these peer-led presentations explain how companies across a range of industries have successfully boosted safety on site, often at little or no expense.
