Buffaload Logistics to Build New Warehouse

08/03/2019

FSDF member Buffaload Logistics has secured planning permission for a new 80,000 sq ft warehouse based in Ellington

The company says that it is also investing in new trailers and infrastructure in 2019.

Buffaload’s turnover exploded from £19m in 2016 to £32.2m in 2017. It maintained that turnover in 2018.

The company says: “Buffaload branding was launched in 2013, but Buffaload’s history began in actuality in 1995 as a one-man operation with a temperature- controlled van! Every change at Buffaload since then has been upward; acquisition, expansion, training, accreditation, always forward movement. There was a massive surge ahead in 2011, with the first double-deck trailer arriving in the fleet.”

The purchase of the head office and cross-docking chilled warehousing at Ellington near Huntingdon followed. In 2014, 2016 and 2018 “beneficial” contracts were secured with major UK food suppliers and retailers.

In 2015 a new site was acquired in Skelmersdale, with 40,000 sq ft of chilled and ambient storage. In 2017, another 220,000 sq ft site was acquired in Crewe. In that same year the 200th double-deck refrigerated trailer joined the fleet.

“We’re ambitious and we’re strong at Buffaload and our future is looking amazing,” says Buffaload.
