Continued Customer Success for Fowler Welch

FSDF member & UK food supply chain expert Fowler Welch continues to grow, with two key customers extending contracts and adding further volume and services.

Following an incredibly successful onboarding and subsequent first year of partnership with Fowler Welch, both Heck Foods UK and Barfoots have renewed their contracts.

Sausage manufacturer Heck Foods UK came on board in June 2017, with 45,000 pallets collected over the first 12 months to retailers up and down the country from its Washington, Tyne and Wear depot.

Fowler Welch’s original proposal offered a solution that aimed to deliver the most efficient route to market for Heck, whilst providing continuity and sustainability of the current service. One year on and results have been delivered, prompting Heck Foods to renew its contract, as well as naming Fowler Welch it sole haulier. Plans are also in place to develop the partnership further with dual branded trailers due to hit the roads.

They have continued to add value to our operation and we expect this next level of the relationship to only bring benefits to both parties.”

Alongside Heck Foods, Barfoots, a long-standing customer of Fowler Welch has extended its contract to cover all distribution for the farming company for at least three more years. Further volume has been added to Lidl deliveries, taking the number of pallets distributed to 6,500 each year.

These business wins come straight off the back of Fowler Welch’s recent win of The Grocer Gold Logistics Supplier of the Year Award, for bringing “the most tangible and meaningful improvements to the operation”, as the company continues to go from strength to strength.
