Building on the success of its LGV Driver Apprenticeship Scheme, FSDF member Fowler Welch is extending the scheme to Warehouse Operator and Supply Chain Operator roles. The Driver Apprenticeship Scheme began in 2017 and has so far delivered 16 fully qualified new LGV drivers  permanently employed with the business, with  a further 13 drivers currently  gaining their qualification. FSDF Member Fowler Welch and a food redistribution charity have saved more than two million meals from being binned since 2016. Fowler Welch and FareShare originally teamed up in August 2016 to reduce food waste across the supply chain. The haulage firm helps customers redistribute their surplus food to charity by allowing them to add surplus food onto their usual collection. Continental cheese and charcuterie importer Pimpernel Wharf is celebrating its most successful Christmas ever since joining the range of big brands at FSDF member Fowler Welch’s Nuneaton distribution centre. The multi-award winning chilled logistics specialist has taken control of Pimpernel Wharf’s chilled storage, picking and distribution to the major retailers and wholesalers across the country. FSDF member & temperature controlled distribution specialist Fowler Welch has just completed a £2m upgrade of its largest site, in Spalding, Lincolnshire, after a year which saw turnover rise 13% to £163m in the 12 months to March 2017.
